I just loved the book; I've never been a pilot, but got to ride in the 'baggage area' of a small plane once and appreciated the window so I could look out at the moose grazing in the meadows as we flew over them. This was an absolutely fascinating book, filled with interesting and exciting stories. Although I'm not a technical person, it was not hard for me to understand even the technical aspects the pilot shared. We plan a trip to Alaska in 2016, and am bringing this book along so we can stop in and have the author sign it in person!Product details

Panhandle Pilot is a detailed description of flying single engine land and sea commercial planes. I know very little about flying planes so the book was very educational for me. The in depth details were confusing during parts of the book and hard for a non-pilot to follow at times. That didn't take away from the raw personality Bob conveys in the book. After I was done reading I felt like I personally knew Bob Adkins. This strong personality kept me reading. The best part of the novel were the diverse stories; from relaxed swingers to nervous WWII pilots. Great novel for anyone interested in Alaska and flying.
Being a pilot it brought back alot of great memories
