I read The Christian's Secret of a Happy Life, by Hannah Whitall Smith about fifty years ago, even before I received Jesus as my Lord and Savior. I was in an adult Sunday school class with Johnnie Lord, Pastor Peter Lord's dear wife, and she suggested this book. It was the first so called Christian book I ever read. She recommended that we only read as far as we could accept and incorporate into our lives, but being the speed reader I am, that was out of the question. I knew it changed me, but now, these many years later I began to wonder what it actually said. I purchased it on Kindle and began to read it again. Ah, yes, there's what it did for me, and has been doing ever since. If you want a truly happy life, you can read it all, or read it any way you please, just do consider putting its concepts into practice. Here's the secret -- we need to understand that in any relationship with God, we have our part and he has His. One without the other won't work. It's a simple secret, but Mrs. Smith explains it in such a sweet and humble way that she makes it accessible and usable to the newest Christian or to the one who has walked the walk for a long time. Give it a try. It truly will change your life. The Christian's Secret of a Happy LifeProduct details

The Christian Secret of A Happy Life Revised and Enlarged Edition edition by Hannah Smith Religion Spirituality eBooks Reviews
I have read this book several times and it was life changing. So I got copies for my Sunday School class. I cannot believe how small the font is. It may take magnifying glasses to read it.
The book itself is wonderful, but this publisher doesn't know how to make a readable book!!!!
The font size is probably 4. Yes 4. It’s like a joke. There was nothing to indicate that the print size would be other than standard size.
This is such a marvelous book. I know I read it many years ago, but this book has so much more meaning to me at this stage of my life. It is a gift from God that at the same time I started seeking a real life "hidden in God with Christ," that this book came back into my life. I am not just reading it; I am using it in a men's group and I am reading a chapter several times each week.
I wish is had read the reviews prior to purchasing from this publisher. The font is so tiny I need a magnifying glass to read it and I don't wear glasses. Definately read this book but from a different publisher. It was a life changer for me years ago and I wanted to read it again. Will try a different option. One star because of the font.
Wow. Who knew that a writer from the 19th century could still be so on target? Hannah Whitall Smith has written a gem of a book. As expected from a time when people's lives were not as frantic as in our current world, the reader will have to slow down and read carefully to pull out the meat. Absolutely worth the effort. I found chapters 1 and 2 slow going, but 3 was brilliant, and worth the effort of wading through the first 2 chapters. Smith's logic and wording are refreshing, as is her profound faith.
I bought the kindle version. I already had the print version, bought 40 years ago. I thought I would switch between them. But this version is different. Chapters one and two are reversed. In one chapter most of the text is the same, but the opening paragraph is different. I looked at a free online edition in the Harvard e-library. It matches my print edition. What is up with these changes? This is not a translation. It is not described as abridged. This is quite frightening, if you think about it. What if there are real content changes? Are books for "real" or is there now a new form of pseudo literature?
BUY FROM ANOTHER PUBLISHER OR SOURCE.
The book is an excellent book, however, this publisher's version is terrible. The font is too small to read, they did not edit it at all, there are typos on every page, and weird spacing. This publisher probably scanned an older version of the book and - without editing or formatting it correctly, just put it into a self publisher and sold it as it.
The front cover has a picture of Hannah Whitall Smith that is badly distorted to fit the space, just another sign that they showed no care in the production of this book.
I love the book itself, but will have to order a copy from somewhere else so it is readable.
